ive been at Spring training all week.. which is training using the Spring Framework as opposed to training in Spring =p

i thought it was this simple java web app configuration tool.. but its oh so much more. its based around the idea of Inversion of Control (ioc) in an attempt to promote more pure OO. it basically means u have a controller which tells objects how they should be configured instead of objects knowing how to retrieve their configuration from somewhere. this means objects only do their own business logic.. instead of platform dependent configuration. theres heaps more than that like a MVC framework (which pwns Struts) and security frameworks .. but more than i care to go into here.. check it out if ur as much of a nerd as me.

disappointingly frisbee was cancelled this week .. grrr.. instead me, nige, cameron, lachlan went to my local to have a lil practice session. it was like the silliest practice ever.. but i think we all got something out of it. we've determined that my msot accurate throw is my hammer.. and that i should never throw a backhand in a game ever again =p we jsut kinda mucked around for a while after, like playing on the playground equipment which was there and throwing around corners and such. nige managed to throw a frisbee on the roof of the clubhouse.. so i climbed up to get the disc whilst wearing cleats .. which probly didnt do that much good to them. i threw the disc down thru a bunch of trees.. and didnt see where it went.. but as i was climbing i heard nige scream and the others burst out laughing.. as i managed to hit nige in the groin .. and he was writhing in pain on the ground =p as amusing nite all around.

i went tot he gym tonite =) which i havent done.. well ever. im heaps weak.. like i was doing half of what the other guys were lifting.. and im ok with that =p ive always been more of a speed guy than a strength guy. im gonna try and get there semi-regularly.. although ill probly be doing cardio mostly.. with maybe some upper body endurance weight training.. (for basketball shooting =)

.. i went to the bar 333 pool comp after with the boys.. and lost in the first round =p i totally suck now .. not that i was ever that good. i havent really had to chance to jsut hang out with guys and do manly things since high school =p ive been hanging out with work ppl a bit lately.. and its pretty cool .. albeit quite alcohol related =p

w00t! w00t! the swannies won the flag today =) hehe its been a while (72 years in fact).. ive been following the swans since before the last time they made the grand final in 1996.. and back then i thought it couldnt be far away =p it was a mad game too.. they won it by 4 points in the end!!

.. i had a pretty big one last nite.. i didnt get home too late (like 12:30-ish) but we did start drinking at 4pm =p i havent really been properly drinking for a while.. so it was pretty fun to hang out n stuff. i bumped into a bunch of uni ppl at the Hotel Chambers (which is across the street from my work). they were at this bday party which i wasnt invited to (grr), but i still managed to stop and talk to a few of them who i rarely see.

in other forgotten news.. i reformatted my HD cos my DVD burner was playing up. i didnt really back anything up though.. im not sure what i was thinking. i only backed up my divxs and mp3s really =p gah.. i dont really pay attention to things when i get frustrated and jsut think "well this will fix u good" .. so live like lost all my email and such from like forever.. although that bothers me less now that it did initially. i cant really even remember why i was keeping it =p

.. so im on WinXP now.. its pretty sweet.. to register all u need to do is transfer ur soul to Bill Gates. its all broadband now so its pretty fast. but at least my dvd burner works.. so i can burn all those backed up divxs and mp3s =p


.. p.s .. i forgot to mention that Tomoko's sister is having twins =) .. hrm.. japanese twins .....

the hat tourney started this week. my team seems nice enuf =) but i can see that a lot of the other teams are quite stacked with experienced players compared to us. i played pretty suck. i dropped two lay outs in the end zone.. but very catch able. grr. i n00bed it up big time =p

... i took an RDO to see howls moving castle today at newtown dendy.. it was pretty rocking.. im still a lil confoosed about the story though.. its not as straight forward as the previous Ghibli movies. i wasnt heaps sure what was going on or why ppl were doing things. it still looked awesome though.. and had very magical feel about it, i just didnt flow quite as smooth. so it gets a 7.5 out of 10 (which may improve as i surf the net for explanations of the story) but Laputa is safe at the top of my list for now =)

i went with Tomoko.. she is off the Sweden a week from now.. like going forever.. to get married. im so jealous of ppl who have direction in their lives.. but at the same time i can see that i probly dont wanna be locked in like that =p

not much going on this weekend.. the arts review was pretty cool.. lots of nerd jokes in it =p i wish he had them at UTS now.. we really did have a deprived student lifestyle =p

Advent Children was also quite cool. but if u havent played FF7 i can imagine it being a lil hard to follow. actually having played any final fantasy games will help i spose. theres basically zero character development, so u kinda have to know who everyone is beforehand. also the story isnt that complex so u can probly figure it out as u go along and still enjoy the awesomeness of the 3D animation. =)

continuing a good week for jap cinema, Howls Moving Castle is out this thursday! i cant wait =) u should all go see it (preferrably in jap), im probly gonna take a day off and go see it in the day time.

.. my DVD burner appears to be shafted.. it jsut freezes my puter when i try and burn a DVD. i thought it was a Windows problem.. but burning a DVD in linux isnt a trivial task, i couldnt figure out how to do it.. it kept telling me there isnt enuf disc space (even when i tried to burn 200Mb onto a blank 4.7Gb DVD). *shrugs* lil help?

a rather uneventful week in the life of this small boy. chiswick was pretty pretty boring.. im back in thornleigh tonite to pick up clean clothes and to download anime off the net =) man i miss my keyboard.. ive been using my sister's sketchy laptop keyboard for more than a week and i think it gave me RSI. i cleaned up and such before a left.. but i think i might end up there tommolo too.. cos ill probly be out late.

i had dinner with kallie last nite.. she was on one of their frequent "breaks". relationships are so much effort.. i dunno how ppl can do it =p sometimes i feel a bit motivated to look around.. but then i see how many ppl i know are so stressed out .. so i figure i can put it off for another week =p we ate at Musashi.. it was pretty good.. we ordered too much i think =p so tasty though =)

nothing much else is going on.. so heres some random things...

i miss you like a hole in the head
man.. living alone is totally boring and rather lonely. i dunno how ppl can do this all the time. all i do is cook things.. then eat them.. then wash the dishes.. then repeat =p i never realised how many dishes.. and cutlery i go thru until i had to wash them all.. its like heaps. ive also discovered that im not nearly as good at cooking than i thought i was. i think maybe cos i improvise a lot and jsut figure itll probly work out =p

.. the only thing i did of not was show some ppl i know from germany around. theyre english wasnt fantastic =p they kept asking me to talk slower all the time. all they wanteed to do was go drinking .. we went to the casino first.. cos in germany u need to be 21 to go to a casino.. and they were only 20. then hung out a pub for a bit talking to the locals and talking about what to do in australia.. it was pretty cool.. if it wasnt for all the smoking =p i only just caught the last bus home (phew).. ive got no idea how to get to chiswick if id missed the last bus.

.. im pretty sure im gonna go home on thursday.. cos my travelpass expires then.. and i need to go shopping like in chatswood maybe. also im not feeling that great... posibly from eating cake and watching divxs all day =p i also miss foxtel..

i had lunch with tomoko today.. she was in town to pick up her visa to Sweden. she is soon headed off for an indefinite period of time to be married in Sweden. she says i can come visit .. so she's gonna see if she can make frens with some hot swedish chicks before i get there =p

after work i went with some of the boys from work to the leagues club for a drink and a chat.. unlike those guys i was able to walk away after one though. i hope nathan gets home tonite.. he seems to not very much lately. next i met up with jel who i havent seen in like almost a year. we caught up over a bite at the old hang out jsut like the good old days.

its funny how theres like frens who i hang up with.. and others who i jsut u jsut catch up with. although lately i have only really had catch up ones =p im heaps not into going to parties of late.. its just so tedious to try and talk to large groups of ppl. im jsut not motivated enuf.. and i do so much hate being fake to ppl.

so we had frisbee on monday.. it was pretty amusing.. we played the team of kids who are cool.. but we played the whole game one handed. like with a beer in one hand =p it was sorta bad cos they were like 15 and had all their parents there.. but they seemed to enjoy it.. they had coke not beer =p we also tried with pizza in one hand .. which was messy. so much fun though =) it sorta ended up being forcings back. and for the last point we played everyone on the field.. so they had like 14 ppl and we had like 11.. lol. i had 4 slices of pizza nad 3 beers during the game =p

we rounded out the nite at the pub for a few more and some pool.. i n00bed it up big time.. we played with some randoms who were even worse than me =p a good nite all round.

.. since then ive been moved out.. sorta.. im housesitting atm in Chiswick.. its pretty cool.. the public transport isnt great though.. ferrys whilst awesome, stop at 7:30pm.. and buses take forever .. and only go to Town Hall..

been feeling pretty apathetic lately.. cant be bothered doing things.. im oft called a snob.. which i dont think i am..but im quite often a dirty piker.. and thats gonna happen.. i figure im not fun at things if im not in the mood.. and im jsut not in the mood that much =p

*yawn* .. my life is rather boring atm.. im not really motived to do anything though.. im jsut like way too lazy to do anything. then as soon as i feel a bit energised i get sick.. or injured.. and get knocked down a couple of notches. its rather frustrating.

.. uh.. friday nite i went to this dinner fo kallies bday. i dont get out much nowadays, but this was ok. i didnt really know that many ppl there.. which is maybe why it wasnt so bad =p i was sitting next to david's sister (who iive met like twice before).. and opposite the bf of some girl kallie knew from school (who ive never met before).. they were nice ppl though. we ate at ippon sushi.. and i predictably had sashimi ^^; the cool thing about dinners is that even if u have nothing to say you can still like eat and not look ur jsut standing around which often happens to me at a party =p

.. i didnt really achieve anything today cept go shopping and buy an unimpressive fathers day present. most of the day is a bit of a blur.. i kept taking naps cos i feel exhausted. i squeezed in a short frisbee practice with nige.. and frankly my backhand is horrible.. not average.. or sketchy.. its terrible. well my short and medium distance backhand that is.. but long backhand is ok still.. but i cant throw anything which even resembles a flat stable backhand. im feeling a bit lethergic atm.. *sigh*
