meh.. twas the suanime LAN thing today..there were no prizes this time so we eased up on the ownage.. =p
there was a guy on the suanime team who was a heaps good cs player.. kinda made it heaps even-ish.. before we came adn joined the unsw ppl they were getting seriously whooped.

played a bunch of other games.. other than wc3.. i did pretty well in them all.. i still kinda suck in general though.. cos i cant aim.=p

in other news.. my webcomic has had mixed responses.. most ppl think its sorta cute.. but only marginally funny..
i think there was too much text.. i think ill do a few more before giving up =p

anyhoo.. twas anime marathon today.. as usual i didnt watch too much.. just sat around and chatted and went shoppin and ate =p

after shoppin i was with kath at marketcity and it was pourin rain.. so we went to a discount store and got a $6 umbrella.. we walk outside.. and.. it stopped raining =p gah.. hehe

i ate at this restaurant in chinatown and they had Mello Yello listed on the menu.. and im like OMG!! (if u didnt know. mello yello is this lemon squash drink which existed in the 1980s.. and has long been dead.. i was too scared to order it.. maybe they still had some cases out back =p

yay i spent all day on it.. but i finally finished my first web comic.. took forever to draw and edit it.. mostly editing.. cos i forgot how to use photoshop =p but it looks ok.. im not 100% happy with the first frame (especially chitos mouth).. and it could use some color.. but its not too bad for a first attempt.. =)

i coudlnt find the one the same as zincky's.. maybe it was destiny that i never have that jumper .. but i got one which is sorta the same but a different color.. which works out pretty good.. cos now we cant ever accidently wear the same jumper..

its really not warm at all though =p damnit.. its like polyester + cotton.. doesnt do anything.. i may as well wear a tshirt =p

i hate IIS like poison.. almost as much as i hate NT permissions.. and only a less than i hate Securant Cleartrust..
these programs all try and auto-mate so much crap thus hiding the implementation formt he user.. which is good in theory, but when they dont configure properly it is impossible to figure out where to manually fix these things..

the stupidest thing ever could very well be so called "friendly error messages" which could just as easily be renamed to "useless error messages".. by keepign the message "user friendly" they basically take away any useful information about the error.. some examples of messages ive got today are:

"your server is not configured properly, check your configuration"
"an application server error has occurred"
"general access deined error"
"its busted foo"
"fudge, i dunno what happened"
"this program has bugs, deal with it"

this guy at work (cameron) today said me and this other guy (erin) were like beavis and butthead in how we spent the whoel day gawking at movei trailers for various movies.. like the hulk and xmen2..ooh theyre gonna be so schweeet... *drools* lol

johnny english
didnt do much today cept wake up =p
went to see the movie Johnny English with bonnie at Hornsby.. the movie sucked like a black hole..
i struggled to find a good joke int he movie.. some of the slapstick stuff maybe was a bit amusing..
but all the dialogue stunk like hunt's high tops =p basically there were a lot of jokes where he rushed in and said soem arrogant stuff, and then was proved to be a fool.. twas all quite obvious and predictable.. and rather lame =p

it gets 4/10 on my movie rating scale.. and its lucky to get that much..
it did have some alright gadgets in it..

twas also the first movie i ever paid full price for.. gah.. bitterly dissappointing

LAN party
meh.. i woke up in a LAN party at my own house.. my brother had some ppl over for some LAN action.. they played some co-op crap for a while.. then played a lot of C&C Generals vs the puter.. they wouldve done better if they actually worked together a lil bit =p basically they all hid and horded resources.. and waited for their friends to die.. and for the puter to run out of resources.. then they just walked in and picked off the scraps..=p

they did also play this cool mod of battlefield though.. it was like the gulf war.. so they had like apaches and such.. was pretty schweet..i may have to try it some time =) hehe

i love the night ride, i love to boogie..
twas hunt's bday celebration today, starting with a day of walking aroudn the city taking photos of ourselves lookin like goons =p i was sposed to meet them in the city at 10am, although i said fromt he start that i would be late.. i didnt get up til 9, and i felt sick so i went back to bed and got up again at 11 (eep) in the end i didnt join them till about 1pm (cos it takes forever to get to the city from my house). it was pouring rain at my house when i left so i had to bring an umbrella, but when i got the train stn.. it was blue skies all around =p

we ate lunch at pancakes at the rocks (twice in 3 days for me =) before walkin aroudn the rocks a bit and taking some stupid photos of us just being silly =) like climbing on stuff, and jumping off stuff.. and making silly faces, so much fun =)

:: Next we headed to the Shire .. mroe specifically Hunt's house to for some xbox projecter action.. unfortunately for me i sux0rs at console games in general =p but it was still fun.. we played some emulated arcade games like simpsons arcade and the ninja turtles game.

just was we were playing super bomberman 4 player.. phil got freaked out when a coin fell thru hunt's window.. (wha?) then another and another.. a couple of minutes apart for about half an hour.. wtf??!?! .. there was like $7 in hcange fallen on the floor.. only one person could possibly be ghey enough to do such a thing.. and sure enough after ages of waiting around in the cold and being by mozzies, chito finally came inside =p

meh.. went home after a lil bit of this game called "My Hero" for sega master system. it is described as the hardest game ever made.. basically its a mari-style side scroller.. but theres no save game, and u die in one hit and u only have 3 lives.. gah.. and the enemies just keep coming at ya.. gah.. i wanna see if i can get it for my ipaq and master it =p

got home via gus, to strathfield where i waited for 55 mins for the night ride.. (i actually fell asleep and i thoguht i missed my bus) and then got on to see Tim Wall going home and we caught up and stuff.. twas alright. i then had to walk home in the rain at 5am.. *sigh* hehe

sunday bloody sunday
gah ive had nose bleeds all day.. its quite bad
my head is starting to hurt from loss of blood i think..*gets dizzy* eep.. i dun feel so good.. *falls over*

reincarnation
i had a long chat with cecil today.. havent seen her in like forever.. anyways we were talking about buddhism.. as she is a devoted buddhist and id questiosn about it.

she was explaining how buddhism works.. and basically theres this cycle where ppl die and are reincarnated..what u get reincarnated as depends on ur karma..so if u have bad karma (i.e.) ur a bad person. then u get downgraded to like a pig.. but when the pig dies.. u get some or all bad karma taken away.. so u can get put back up to a monkey.. and so on, until u become a human again.. and can remake decisions about good and evil.

the aim is to reach enlightenment.. and break out of this cycle and reach nirvana.

also.. there is more than one heaven..
when u die, if you have good karma.. but have not reached enlightenment, then u earnt a stay in one fo the many heavens.. and u stay there until uve used up all ur good karma.. afterwhich u get reincarnated as another human.. and the cycle continues..

the Christian heaven is one of these heavens.. and supposedly the Christian God is an arrogant God who thinks he created all.. when Buddhists do in fact believe in the Big Bang theory.

also i didnt know, that Buddha isnt a God at all.. he is a guy.. i forget his real name, but he was a teacher not a God..wah lao.. the things u learn.. id be interested in hearing more about things.. if i ever get a chance to talk to her again..

she also does volunteer work at Ashfield helping homeless ppl.. something i might be keen to help with =)

meh.. hardly ne1 turned up again.. snobs.. hoe and nick and nige.. and some of my brothers friends..
watched lots of ranma, lots of seinfeld and lots of Rambo =p hehe its all good..

pretty uneventful really .. meh..

two dinners in one day..
first up was dinner with ling and the kids.. ended up at pho.. bleh =p good to see them again though.. although they all ran off pretty quick to get back to the UTS Easter party... grrr.. issues :rolleyes: but on the upside i bought easter eggs for every1 =)

next was the anime kids at pancakes at the rocks.. had to bus and walk in the pouring rain.. *sigh* why does it always rain on me?
anyhoo..had a nice lil dinner. no special occassion really =p .. i did bring easter eggs for all though =) keke~~ oh and bunny spent the night trying to beat my brother's speed record for solitare on my ipaq.. hehe

afterwards some of them went to karaoke.. but seeing as how it was a thursday.. my last train was 11:55.. so no karaoke for ian.. just went home.. meh..i got home and hit my knee on the sofabed, cos i was too lazy to turn on the light, and one of jo's friends was satying over =p

its a small small world
bumped into a lot of ppl today... mustve been one of those days..
saw andrea at wynyard in the morning, saw kallie at lunch, saw some peer network kids after work at GBs, saw lisa at townhall, saw bunny at marketcity.
that was in addition to the planned meetings.. see next post =p

ouch, it hurts
ok this basically made my day. but this guy at work has a 5yo sin, and he goes up to his mother and says "oww momma, i feel bad. i think u need to take me to the doctor..", she replies "where does it hurt?". He goes on about how bad it feels for the next 5 mins.. then replies "its my bum.. it hurts", as he lies on the couch writhing in pain... she says "oh, whats wrong?", and then he goes "theres a crack in it" (ba-bom ching) and runs off laughing for the next 10 mins. teehee. even funnier considering it was devised by a 5 year old.

teenage angst brigade
after a quick lil jap dinner.. (yeh i had 2 jap meals in one day =p) we scooted off the the silverchair concert at the entertainment centre.
twas ratehr crowded as ud expect.. the concert rox0red my um.. sox0rs =p i dunno why ppl were telling me that silverchair sucked live.. cos they were soo good.. and i didnt even know a lot of their new songs.

daniel johns' guitar-work was nothing short of spectacular.. even more so considering he plays with arthritis-ridden fingers..

there was gum on the floor in front of my seat, exactly where id normally put my left foot.. was like weirdly uncomfortable.. i jsut couldnt place my foot in the right spot to sit well =p

the concert finsihed like hecka late.. like 11:30.. i ended up on the last train home (yet again) .. *sigh* .. i remember the days when id get 8hours sleep =p

bon voyage tomoko
stuggled to wake up in time to make it to tomoko's farewell.. gah..it was at pier 26 which is a slick lil place down at cockle bay...
twas a quiet lil gathering, tomoko said that only 6 ppl rsvp'd =p but a lot more than that turned up =) i didnt really know that many ppl there though.. im like out of touch with like every crew nowadays.. met a couple of nice ppl though =) .. but i cant remember any of their names =p.. probly never see them again.. meh.

tomoko has promised to send my stuff back from japan =) ill have to compile a huge list .. we're gonna run a semi-organised-importing-of-anime-goods business =)

afterwards hate a lil bite to eat with chito, dave and the twins. at wagamamma.. mm i lub that place =p
after that i hate like 2 hours to kill before meeting up for silverchair.. didnt do much.. walked with chito most of the way back to his car, then i slept for a while..

after julia's dinner, i ran off to gaby's 21st in pymble.. i made it jsut in time fer speeches and junk.. phew.. =p

brr tis cold in here... i got a ride to the stn by squeezing 7ppl in chito's car =p gah
i got to the stn in time to miss the 2nd last train by about 2 mins.. gah.. this is at about 1:30am, the next and last train was at 2:39.. meh
but maybe it was best i wasnt earlier.. cos jsut moments before i got there some kids got the crap beat of of them by some lebs. and one of the kids was missing in action =( there was a lot of blood like around the station.. and they coudlnt find their friend.. thats like hecka scary..

in the end i got to hornsby and had to catch the 3:15 nite ride home.. gah.. with a bunch of drunkards fromt he hornsby rsl..
quite funny, they were all doin imitations of professor frink from the simpsons =p

julia's bday dinner
after shopping i headed to glebe point road for julia's bday dinner..
twas a bit of a hike.. gah, i turned up early cos i had to leave early, but no one else really did =p typical ppl all rocked up at least half an hour late..

i dunno what else to say, it was like a dinner.. with like ppl.. um.. her hs frens rated ok =p

failed therapy...

went shopping on sat afternoon wif bonnie.. jsut catching up and such. we both were in need of some retail therapy =p
we ventured up to the glorious hornsby westfield shopping complex to impulse buy some junk that we didnt really need ... there was some coffee market or something going on and a guy handing out free pizza.. weird. but we resisted (since we're both on a diet) and went inside..

unfortunately, it happened to be about 5.. and basically all the shops had closed to started closing.. =p gah.. so we jsut walked around and talked about how world rotates and such.. she bitched alot about her ex back in japan.. he sounds like a jerk.

theres a wall in my hosue where the paint is peeling, and so my dad decided to repaint it. but for some weird reason he decided to strip off the old paint, but not repaint it for about 2 weeks.. =p

i finally had lunch with jenny today, to get back some stuff i leant to nancy.. kinda silly cos ive seen nancy like 4 times since =p
turns out they werent my DVDs at all =( they were some SVCDs which id had circulating for liek 2 years =p still no idea where my dvds are..

had a quiet lil lunch, she ran off early cos she forgot she had work to do.. didnt wanna give me a hug either.. *pout*

bunny's bday dinner
thursday: had dinner at Al Portos at Starcity. it was held at 8pm (gah) cos the girls wanted to go late ntie shopping beforehand =p
i had 3 hours to kill time =p but twas ok, caught up with Hema cos i havent seen her for a while, and she just got back from Germany where she was at this UN mock conference thing..

anime screening
went to the anime screening tonite.. first one ive been to this year..
all the shows i saw sucked.. the last one was ok-ish..

was kinda cool to see all the lil kids again =)
almost all of them greeted me with "what happened to your hair?" and the occassional "when did u dye your hair?"
grr..luckily i dont feel the need to conform to their oppressive hair-style regimes =p

tuesday: went to ANA teppanyaki for gus's going away party thing.. although we had a party as well =p

ANA was as i remeber: very filling, quite pricey and damn gooood.. =)
the set menu's have changed a lot.. not quite as good i reakon. i suspect the oysters were a lil sketchy too.. *clutches tummy*

i had to run back to the stn to catch my last train of the day... made it with about 7 seconds to spare..
fell asleep on the train, and woke up as the train pulled into my stop .. phew =p
